Just curious as to how much I remove when I take the tour-pac off. I'd weigh it myself if I had a scale.

Yah....30lbs. I'm no manly man, but I'm thinkin' closer to 45 for the king sized TP. Here's the deal though....If'n yer thinking about doing a TP quick disconnect, it's no big deal. It's a little awkward to muscle around to get it on the bike...sometimes a helping hand is good. Getting it off the bike though, is a piece o' cake.......

I think its more around 20 lbs with the QD hardware attached.
Installing it is pretty easy if ya kneel down behind the bike so you can see the mounting points.

 

I've considered putting on the QD kit for the option of a different look. However, after running with the TP on the back, I've gotten spoiled by having a "trunk". I wonder how many install the kit & then just leave it on? (The money for that kit would go a long toward a new Corbin seat!) Decisions, decisions...

 

I'd say 30 lbs or less...i'm considering the quick disconnect but the more i ride with the tourpack the more i like having theconvenient and chest level storage!

 

The biggest hassle is it is awkward,and the fear of scratching the paint is always there.

 

Best done with two people. I find installing it by first standing it on end so the front forks, if you will, come down onto the bike works well for me.
Also, maybe it is easier with a bike that has a center stand.
Whatever the case, I love being able to take it off.

 

Timely question, just my tour pack off last night. So I grabbed the digital bathroomscale and it came out at 28 lbs. Sure notice that weight come off the bike.
