Radio Shack Alarm Siren
Sorry for the new post. But with no Search function???
Has anyone installed the Radio ShackSiren on a bike with the Street Glide type security system with the "Proximity Sensor" remote (no "on/off" feature)?
Here's a Link.

RE: Radio Shack Alarm Siren
Thanks Drifter.
Just to clarify..
As long as you have your key/remote in your pocket there is no audible alarm when you approch your bike, mount and start it?
From what i've read it will automatically arm itself and give an audible chirp when you walk away??
If it were accidentally set off in my garage, (kids) what is required to disarm the siren?Just approach with the fob?
Thanks again!

RE: Radio Shack Alarm Siren
Thanks for the help!
I did the install last night and it works great!
As far as install difficulty,I probably spent more time researching and "sweating" the details than it took to actaually install the damn thing!
A++ in the DIY "bang for the buck" department!

RE: Radio Shack Alarm Siren
Just installed in a '05 Road King and it works perfectly. Just follow the simple instructions below. It's my understanding onthe '08 models, the plug is on the left side under the side cover.:
Removed the right side saddle bag and cover and then removed the electronic control module, 2 hex head screws. Removed the plastic cover, two nuts. Cut the head off the factory wiring harness. The factory wiring harness has three wires black, brown, and green. The siren only has a black and red. Take two pieces of shrink tubing and place over the red and black wires from the siren. Wired the red from the siren to the brown from the wireing harness and the siren black to the bike green. The black I just tucked back into the wireing cover. Test your connections! Slide the shrink tubing back down and used the blow dryer on high setting to shrink the tubing. The siren is small enough that I used some 3M emblem tape and secured the siren where the wiring harness was located. Simple using "cutacroshorty" as my instuction manual.

You can also create pins by soldering paperclip ends to the wires on the alarm and heatshrink over that to avoid cutting anything off. Pins fit snug in factory plug. Drilled a small hole in the dust cap for the wires to run through, put it back together.
Fantastic!
