Default TOO much maintenance screws **** up...

changing EVERY fluid every 500 miles

tightening drive belts

greasing fork necks

adjusting primary chains


the list goes on....you guys are creating as many problems as your avoiding....jus sayin

hell, I barely look at mine (and I do ride it just about daily, down here in good 'ol NC) Maybe once a month to check tires and fluids. But I say, if it aint broke, don't fix it!

My point exactly....some of these guys are so worried about "maintaining" the damn thing....when do they ride???

Then they complain about torx bolts stripping out...belts breaking....trannies shifting bad because something's OVER tightened....threads stripping because they had the "torque" wrench on FT instead of inches....

Keeps me chuckling for sure

I once talked to an old timer that did nothing but travel on his Harley in the summer months,he said if he changed oil every 3,000 miles that's all he would have time to do.He ran dino,no probs for him every 5 or 6 thousand.Adjustments or repair were only done when needed.

Don't overwork on it...

Ride the ting and enjoy it, and then if you insist on turning screwdrivers and wrenches that often, do the honeydo list...
