RE: Fuel filter for 2005 flhpi
You can find your fuel filter inside your tank.
I changed the fuel filter in my bike back in January, and can positively say that it is a pain in the @$$. Unfortunetly, it's a necessary evil sometimes. For anyone with a 2002 up EFI, it's part number 61001-01. Recommendations I can make for folks that are contemplating doing it, get the December 2007 issue of American Iron Magazine, there is an illustrated guide to the process in there. Make sure you get a couple extra clamps, in case you need them, and a gasket for the top of the fuel tank. Also, make sure you get 10 replacement canopy sealing screws, because the ones you remove will more than likely be deteriorated. The fuel filter kit comes with a replacement fuel line, so you will not need that.
I had problems keeping the bike running when I was done, and had to go back in. I found the regulator had slipped out of its housing. After slipping it back in, it ran fine, so be careful not to accidently knock it out.
