Default compensating sprocket nut

I have a 2003 Ultra Classic w/ 20,000 miles. For the third time, it's in the shop for having a loose compensating sprocket nut. Dealer said locktite and proper torque had been done in the past. They don't know what the problem is. Has anyone heard of this problem? I'm about to contact HD, but they'll probably just blow me off.

I'm not sure, but as far as Loctite I only use 565 (56531) It's a high performance type that does not break down untill high heat. A little more money, but worth it. I have a 2001 and have never had this problem. Keep us informed.

Since it's happened three times, contact HD. Play nicey-nice with 'em and they'll probably help.

Dealers say a lot of things. You have to make sure the threaded surfaces are clean and oil free, and with the correct loc-tite and torque applied the nut should'nt back off on its own.

Hope you get it fixed this time.

if it's been the same dealer doing the work, you might want to try a different shop (as well as contacting HD to make them aware of the problem).
