Default Best tires for theUltra

I have read a lot of stuff here about tires. I just put a new Metzler on the rear of my Ultra. It is one made in Brasil. I am looking for the best tire for my application. I ride two up most of the time. I am 6'3 &nbsp\\;275 and&nbsp\\; my better half&nbsp\\; is 5'1 and 120. I need one load rated for me, her and some travel luggage. What is my best bet. I don't want my tire to come apart like some of the Metzlers I have read about here&nbsp\\;

I run the Dunlops........the MU85 has a load capacity of over 900 lbs, and a slighly deeper tread pattern than the MT90.&nbsp\\; Are there better tires out there?&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; Maybe, depending on who you talk to.&nbsp\\; I have never had an issue with the Lops, and by riding consertively, I got nearly 17,000 out of my rear (mostly solo riding)

Dunlop Elite 3. This tire has a special compound making it hard in the center and softer on the sides. If you ride with that much weight you'll get a flat spot on the center of the tire pratty quick.

&nbsp\\;
ME880 is only the model.&nbsp\\; What size is it?&nbsp\\; A proper size Metzler ME880 properly inflated is one of the best tires you can have.&nbsp\\; Not surprisingly, to me at least, a Metzler ME880 of the wrong size (your bike exceeding the load rating of the tire), run underinflated for long periods might fail.&nbsp\\; Some posters here seem to feel that makes the ME880 a bad tire.&nbsp\\; I disagree. If&nbsp\\;someone is&nbsp\\;not smart enough to choose the right tire for their bike, and keep it properly inflated they should sell their bike.&nbsp\\; They are a menace to both themselves and those around them.

The wife and i take long rides two-up every year......we run with Metzlers.....while they are great for us i don't know your riding style, the weather where you&nbsp\\;live and the weather you will ride in...that said, try the Metzlers and other brands til you find what you feel most comfortable with....whatever you choose, ride safe....

RAn Metzler on my 07 Wide Glide, got talked into runnin the Elite 3 on my FLHT, it made so much noise it sounded like the primary was coming apart. I took the tire off before it was worn out.
Got a buddy with the Metzler made in Brazil on his Heritage, they ran good and he hasn't had a problem.
Metzler just came out with the Mu85b16 tire. Just put a front and back tire on my bagger before my last trip to the hill country. Got over 2500 miles on them since ROT weekend.
Metzlers has been around for 100 yrs. they are good tires and don't make all the noises some tires do.
But remember when you git new tires they need to be broke in. They will be slick and not stop on the road real good and can slide on the curves.
&nbsp\\;
OH yea I think the metzler tires that were made in Brazil were the 880 series that gave theproblems a while back, and some metric bike tires. I think the problem has been address since then.
Email Metzler and ask.

Don't know about the others, but I've always run blackwall Dunlops with no problems or complaints
