Default J&M hidden CB Antenna

Is anyone running this antenna. How does it compare to factory set-up?

I have an '08 Street Glide. Added the factory HD CB and intercom. Running a J&M shorty headset and a Fire-X no-ground-plane antenna. SWR has been tuned. Could stand for a little more range.

I have not seen or heard any reviews yet on this antenna yet so I am curious as well. Also, would like to know about Weather Band reception, as this is a wave band that I depend on while traveling to avoid severe weather. Anyone?

I'm gonna order one today but won't know how well it works till spring. Wooster Ohio sucks in the winter .. salt all over. I just ordered the hidden am/fm-weather band antenna from ebay 22.00 shipped. The weather band is received from the am/fm antenna. I thought about the J&M am/fm antenna but my cheapness said to try this one first

Default j&M Hidden Antennae

A couple of months ago I wrote a review for this setup. I included pics and all. I guess no one was watching.

The OP asked about the J&M in-fairing CB antenna, not the J&M in-fairing AM/FM/WB antenna.

I installed the in-fairing CB antenna and wrote-up my limited experience with it in this thread:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...b-antenna.html

Since that initial post, I've taken more group rides and it's worked fine for those. I haven't tested it for max range. J&M acknowledges that the in-fairing CB antenna will not have the range of an OEM HD tour pak mounted CB antenna; IIRC J&M says it will have about 80% of the range of the OEM antenna which is fine for my application.

Ditto to what harleypingman has said...I don't feel I needed the range of the factory antenna since my main usage was for group rides as well...I have one installed and it seems to recieve the chatter from the other CB'ers out there in the limited use it has recieved however the primary use was to chat with the group that has communication...
