Default CB Radio Not Recognized

My son has an 09 Ultra Classic. He just put it back together after having the tins painted. Everything works except the CB Radio. He has radio and intercom but when he tries the CB he gets a message that the CB is not installed and to see a dealer. He has checked everything he can think of but hasn't found a fix. Any idea on what might be causing he glitch? Nothing in the service manual or owners manual about initializing the CB.

I would double check my wiring. If it's plugged into the correct connector the head unit should know its there. Probally something simple.

+1 on double-checking that the CB module's connector is plugged into the correct connector of the overlay harness. There is no "initialization" for the CB.

Thanks guys. When he removed the fairing the only thing he unplugged was the headlight. Didn't need to touch any of the other wiring. The battery was disconnected for a month or so while everything was in the paint shop but that shouldn't have caused any problems.

I know this is an old post, but I am running into the same problem. CB is connected but radio is not recognizing it. All connections are good, power checked with multimeter. Drawing a blank. Could the CB module be DOA? Radio diagnostic shows nothing.

There's lots of info on this sticky:

Maybe something here will help.
