Default Friends don't let friends buy a Dunlop 404

This may be common knowledge as it should be but I found out the hard way so I'll share it in case someone does not know.

Back in October I needed a rear tire and had a run coming up in a few days. Went to a local indy and let him talk me into a Dunlop 404. It rode like crap. I noticed it flat spotted and wearing heavy after 3000 miles. Then I noticed the made in Indonesia stamp.
Went to Dunlops site and this tire is rated for a honda 750. Our bikes are way too heavy even without my fat *** on it for these tires. Of course the indy said " It's the exact same as OEM, It just doesn't say Harley on it. " Bullshit. I went back to the indy to bitch and yell but he's long since out of business. Karma I guess. I know have an E3 on the back so all is good again. I love the way they handle.

Isn't the stock tire for the '06 touring bike the D407? I thought so, maybe I'm wrong. But whatever it is I've had great luck running these tires. I'm on my 3rd front tire and 2nd back tire at 38k miles.

Sorry this happened to you.

Im SHOCKED... just SHOCKED, that an "indy" would do this. I mean, from everything I read on this forum, Indys are the saviors of us all, unlike those bastard dealers who are only out to rip us off.

Sorry, had to be a smart *** for a second.

Again, sorry you got hosed.
