5000 miles! Have you been doing burnouts

Seriously, I would recommend the Metzler or an Avon Venom X. Either of these tires should give 8,000+ and they both are good handlers wet or dry.

I just replaced my sons 880 Metzler (5000 miles) with a Dunlop. While he did like the Metzlers performance he didnt get the mileage he expected. His riding style is hard so that may explain why he didnt get alot of mileage out the tire........................BG

While my last bike was not a Harley (1100 Honda Shadow), I replaced the stock Dunlops with ME880's. Noticeable improvement in handling. Currently running D402's on my '05 EG. No problems, but I may go back to Metz when it's time. Anyone notice better handling with the Metz or Avons? These things aren't all that nimble to begin with, so any improvement would be nice.

have had dunlop, metzler and avon on the back of my glide, dunlop went bout 9800 miles avon went about 6000 and the metzler is pretty new, if dunlop made a tire that would work with my 18" wheel id use em, they wear about the best. thats just my .02

I've got my original Dunlop 402 on my bike right now with almost 13000 miles on it.

I'm fixing to replace it this weekend, she's toast.

to start with, do not mix brands of tires. If the tire you are not replacing is a Dunlop, stay with Dunlop. You do have a choice with Dunlop. You probably have the 402 on there now, you could go to the Elite III tire. From friends, I hear it is really good.
