Default Progessive 940 shocks and 31-2501 monotube fork kit

I installed the Progressive 940 rear shocks and the 31-2501 1" lower monotube fork kit on my bike 2 days before heading to the Smokies for 2 weeks and wanted to post my results after speeding time on them. The shocks are a major improvement over the stock air shocks, I set the sag at 1 1/2" for myself not the suggested 2" figuring I'd be riding 2 up with the wife and this should be perfect, it was a nice ride but the rebound was to harsh so I pulled over an softened them 1 turn and they were perfect, we never bottomed out and smoothness and handling was very good, on the monotube fork kit it was better than stock, it never bottomed no matter how big the bump, cornering and handling were excellent, my only complaint with them was on large bumps the rebound was hard, at the end of the 2 weeks (maybe from break in) it did improve but still a little hard, I will probably get with Progressive and see if I can do anything about that but all in all I am very happy with the improvement compared to stock and feel it was money well spent

Glad to hear you are happy with the set up. I am in the market for new shocks in the back, probably going to the 440's to get the 13.5 inches. Dont want to lower the rear end any. May look at Suspension Technologies as they are located pretty close to me if I ride there and they install them. Will be following the suspension comments closely to help me decide. I like riding rather aggressive in the twisties and need more help in the rear end.

I did the same thing to my 2010 Ultra Limited. I agree with Tim the mono tubes are a great improvement over stock. The 940’s however did not work for me and the ol lady. Might be because I am at 270 lbs ol lady is at 120lbs. We had a full load about another 50lbs in the bags and pack. We did a 2500 mile trip thru the Canadian Rockies and then through Montana and Idaho then back home to northern Washington state. I had the shocks adjusted as firm as they would go and we still bottomed out constantly. Ol lady said I have to fix so I am shopping for a better shock maybe Riccor?
