Default Front and Rear air adjustable shocks

My 00 RK had both front and rear adjustable air shocks. My 06 SG does not. I figured it was just cause it was a lowered bike. Just looking on the HD site and see that not even the RG or RK have front air shocks. When did HD stop doing that?

I believe it was in 2001. My 2002 RoadKing does NOT have front adj shocks (air) just the rear is air.

Thanks for the reply.

Wonder why they stopped and if there was any difference in the ride between the 2?

Hey, what the hell did you do to your bike now??

Well, the reason I asked is cause my SG rides harsh..I attributed that to the lowered shocks. That said, my 00 RK rode a hell of a lot better than my SG!! But, like I said, I blame the lowering shocks on the shitty ride. 2 up on the RG was great...2 up on my SG, even with 20# of air in the bags is still hard.

Not sure why they droped the air front, other than it was a pain in the butt to service and the handle bars were the air tank, so you were limited to those that had the valve and special grips too, they rode about the same when set correctly. Glad they are gone.

Got no complaints about the ride on the Profile shocks....still I can't wait to rip 'em off and get the Draggin' Baggers system installed to see the difference in ride/handling. Will be a blast to slam it!

You will find the lower you go the worse the handling will get.

You are behind the times a few model years. The later bikers with front air suspension ( I know '97 and up) do not have the handlebar air tank deal. The fitting for the air is on the rear of the bike with the shock air valve. The front air suspension set up actually made it easier to service. You can just drain the forks and then use vacuum to pull the new fluid back into the fork legs.
