When I bought my 2010 UC I had the Air Wing Tour Pak rack and light installed. Really like it and have had lots of comments about it. I was going to get the matching saddlebag lid rails put on at the same time but the dealer advised against it saying that they would interfere with opening the lids under the tour pak (sold me other accessories instead - maybe he didn't have the rails in stock???). I'm wondering if somebody that does have or knows of someone who has these rails could advise if there is any issue with them interfering with opening the lids under the tour pak.

 

Can't answer your question but I do have a friend who has them on his SG- they look danged sharp once installed! Best of luck on your search.

 

No issues on my limited. I like them and installed them myself.

Do the lids catch the bottom of the tour pak at all? Do you have the Air Wing rack on your tour pak as well? Any photos?

 

sounds like the steeler did not have them in stock and wanted to complete your steel that day.

 

Being new to HD I didn't know the difference. But ever since buying the bike last year I've thought I'd been misinformed. But I would like to see some photos of the Air Wing rails and the tour pak rack from the side and rear. And if anyone has them on a vivid black Ultra Classic that would be a real bonus!

 

I don't know if they will interfere with the tour-pak but I have noticed on the bottom of my tour-pak that there are rubber bumpers that are there which contact the saddlebag lids when you are opening them. The bumpers are there obviously to keep from scratching the saddlebag lids. So, there is the possibility of an interference problem. I would think it would be especially bad if you had stuff loaded on the saddlebag lid racks.
