Default X-M radio reception problems (fixed)

I have had the X-M module that hooks up inside the fairing to the stock HK radio since 2008.
I’ve had it on a 2008 and a 2009 bike with not receptions problems really. It would drop a signal every once and a while, about like the one in my truck.

But when I traded for the 2012 CVO bike it was almost useless. Dropping signals on a regular bases.

So I moved the antenna from inside the fairing to the outside and it works better than it ever has.

I stuck it between the windshield bags and it is almost invisible there.
It has a magnetic base and sticks fine to the windshield bracket.

Here's where I put mine. Works like a charm and I am using a sportster radio add on to the AUX port.

I don't know why this bike was different from my last two bikes.

thats interesting. like you said, mine works flawlessly inside my 09 fairing and my dads inside his 08 fairing except threw the tall trees in the sierras but thats with any vehicle regardless of location.

do you plan on mounting some apes in the bike. I saw a cvo sg in a pic and it looks awesome with the pyo 12 bars

I had mine on the key switch at first and then moved it into the fairing. There was no difference in reception. I could not get my antenna to stay on the clutch or brake perch like shown earlier as that is where I put it on my dad's softail.
