Default scissoring crank theory - 07 models

I wonder if the scissoring crank issue on the 07's have anything to do with the fact that 07's do not have IDS.

08's and later have IDS.

It would be interesting to know if anyone who had a crank problem has IDS on their bikes.

If that were the case than every twin cam before it would have the issues, because you hardly ever see a stock 88 motor that doesn't have a 95 in it anymore.
If I have to get back into my motor, it will have a trued and welded crank.

Its gotta go through the compensating sprocket before it gets to the IDS. If no comp then I could see it.

07 they changed the manufacturing process(and i bielive the supplier) they use a fixture to hold the halfs and just press them together.

just thinking out loud. 07's we have 6 speed, 96" and no IDS. Wondering if the addition of the IDS was targeted to solve a problem related to crank stress.

I think it's more the fact they came with a pile of crap for a crank.

I think its in the way the crank is made. I have a 08 with ids and a se compensator and twisted mine out in sturgis. Now i have a trued and welded crank with the timkin bearing conversion. They say now it's bullet proof and im working on testing that statement. I run the **** out of this engine and down shift hard. i figure if i scatter it then i can go 120R.

May be a stupid question, but what is an IDS? Also, what on what years are the pressed together cranks used? I know my 07 has it, is it still being used on the new bikes or have they changed in later years?
