I Know Hulk Hogan did. His RoadKing was for sale at a local dealership with no crash bars. Looked pretty good.

1.) the crash bars are part of the traditional look and they get lost in the bulk of the bike

2.) lay your bike over on some packing blankets or piled up carpet, you'll see how much of the bike they'll help protect should the bike get tapped in a parking lot and fall

then there's your legs.

That's how i do it, but it is your bike and they are easy to remove.

The bikes do look nice without them, but take those crash bars off then tip 800+ pounds on its side and see what happens.

..I took mine off for the summer...kind of liked the look, missed the highway pegs a little..but now that it's colder in NE...I gotta put em back on, cause I have the canvas snap-on wind deflectors that slide onto the crash bars...and I definitely like them when it's under 50 degrees....

Ive seen it happen at a bar once. A chick gets on some dudes bike and as she threw her leg over, the bike went the same way. laughed my *** off cuz they were both alil "tippsy". Anyway hes lucky cuz the crash bars were on the bike. The only thing that got bent was the right side floorboard. Even funnier was watching them try to pick it back up. Yes eventually i helped them and off they rode

A buddy tipped my brand new Road King over this summer. A tense moment for sure! Only a couple of little scars on the crashbars.
