Was looking to possibly paint the bike. Unless I'm looking in the wrong place, I can't find the "grey" stickers on the tank and the 100 Anniversary emblems seem to be outrageous in cost. With that, I was thinking of leaving this tank as is and buying another to paint. Are there specific years that are exact matches? Any 2003 tank seems to be selling more for the emblems rather than the tank itself.

 

I would think 99-07 would work, but I could be wrong.

 

That was my assumption, but was hoping someone had definite info. It'd also be nice to use a 2008 tank for the 6 gallons. I assume with a larger tank, the speedo and items may not fit correctly.

Right, 08 would involve chopping/welding - mounts are different, etc.
