I have a new to me ultra. The dealer has syn3 in all 3 holes. I used redline in my previous Ultra Classic and preferred that. So my question when draining trans fluid then adding the redline, there will be some residue from syn3 left in there will the mix alter the redline or will it need 2 changes to get rid of the old stuff. jeff
After oil stops flowing heavy crank motor over, as soon as it starts shut off. I do this twice every oil change now to get that extra 1/3 to 1/2 a quart left behind in sump. I let it drain for at least a hour after that, mostly to let filter drain as I put hole in end to drain so don't make as big of mess. Draining overnight doesn't help get much if any more oil out.
Q: Should I flush my engine or driveline before using Red Line's synthetic lubricants?
A flush isn't necessary or advised, as Red Line's products are compatible and will mix with other synthetics and petroleum products.

Pretty sure he was asking about the transmission not the engine.
If you want to get all the oil out of the engine, including the sump, without risking damage there's a system that will do it. https://roguechopper.com/
