Default tour glide with foorboards going open prime..What forward controls?

Im going with a open prime and a 6 speed on my 88 tour glide...what are you guys doing for a shifter bracket since the shaft for the stock shifter runs in the stock primary? Im planning on going suicide so worst case i could build something but i was hoping to find a bracket for the stock shifter so i can keep the footboards....

Thanks for the help!

the wet clutch is superior to the dry clutch...why change, looks ?

vtwin catalog will have frame mount brackets to fab up a shifter

and the "suicide" shifter you refer to would be a foot clutch ( like a car) with a hand shifter- and for bonus points, no front brake

Ya they look bitchin and i got a good deal on it plus my clutch was headed south. Yes the foot clutch no front brake was what a wanted rode my buddies alot last year pretty sweet once you get the hang of it. I seen a bdl open that had a trick alum bracket that bolted to the prime but cant seem to find them. I browesd through the vtwin catalog i didn't see any brackets lots of forward controls that are nice.

Well i got the open prime and tranny today None of it will work with the old glide!! The tranny on the glides are attached to the rear of the engine then through the swingarm. So i was going to just switch the guts from the new ultima 6 speed to the old trans...but the primary wont work because the glide has a shorter span between the crank and the tranny (4 IN PLUS) So i guess ill just send it all back LOL. But i figured i would at least post this up so the next guy doesnt run it to the same issue as me!
