Help... IPOD Interface with BOOM audio amp already installed
Greetings HD Family. I am wanting to hard wire my IPOD with the HD IPOD Interface kit (or one that is just as compatible for less) but I have a question. Those of you who have installed the interface kit, do you have the BOOM amp installed as well? From all posts that I have been able to find, the location of the interface is on top of the radio unit. Where would the interface be mounted since the amp for the BOOM Audio system is mounted on top of the radio? I have found alternate mounting procedures for the Road Glide but not for the Street Glide. Thanks........(Pictures, Videos, and links would be greatly appreciated)

i have the interface but i dont have the amp. i do know though that 2 items can mount on top of the head unit. i have the cb module and the ipod module. i believe that if you do not have a cb module it is doable. other than that a relocation to the saddlebag is the next recommended alternative. others may correct me on this.

I just installed both the amp and the IPOD interface on a brand new 2013 SG. Have to use the IPOD relocation kit to move it to the saddle bag. If you but it on the top of the amp you wont be able to get your fairing back on. I think the relocation kit is about $199, and its pretty easy to install. Remove your tank and run the wiring. MAKE SURE YOU TEST FIT YOUR PLUG on your saddle bag BEFORE you cut it out though! We had to remove the antenna bracket, but we wanted to get rid of it anyways. Everythign fit nicely in teh bag and you dont lose very much room. The system sounded AWESOME with the Boom Audio amp and speaker upgrade too.
Good luck and please measure twice and check three times.....

I have aftermarket amp, iPod module, xm module and crossovers for tweeters all mounted underneath the fairing. It is made possible with a bracket to mount the amp above the radio and relocates the modules underneath. This guy (s.ezzell@me.com) sells the brackets for bout $60 and is well engineered.
