Default ARC Amp Install

Anybody install the ARC Mini on an Ultra Classic?
I am having clearance issues. I also have the XM module on top of the radio. However since the com module is already there it just evens the surface out so to speak. If I sit the amp on top of them the fairing is hitting the amp.
I tried to remove the modules and put the amp on top of the radio and completely remove the com module and sit the XM module on top of the amp. But since the yop of the radio has a ridge designed for the modules the amp does not sit flat.
Open to suggestions.

I asked that question when I was thinking about buying one and the seller wasn't sure about the fit. I read on here of someone having a solution with a fake cb module but I don't know what they did. Hope someone can answer it for you

Let me know how it goes, i will follow this Thread,I plan to put the arc mini in my Road Glide. I also plan to purchase the XM module at a later date and would be bummed if it didn't fit. By the way how do you like the XM? Does it get good reception while you ride especially through the mountains. You may want to talk to firecap 501 on this site he is very knowledgeable with regards to the arc amps.Good luck

What I did might work for you. I used double sided 3m tape. I cut 4, 2 inch strips and put them on top of each other. I made four of these and placed them near each corner of the HK radio. Than I pushed the amp into place. I didnt have any grooves you speak of, but I did have four dimples that stuck up far, enough to keep the amp from sitting flat. I like the tape idea because it also allows air to circulate under the amp for additional cooling, and softens the bikes vibration too the amp. If the xm doesnt fit, look into sirrious module size.

I have an xm commander. Same problem. What I did was mount it vertically, with zip ties to the back of the radio/amp. I'll send a pic if I can. There is more room behind the headlight.
Hope this helps, Eric

I installed it on a Street Glide with the XM module. I had to move the XM module underneath the radio to make rom for the AMP on top of the radio. Once I moved it eveything went together with no problems. Unfortunately I did not take pciture of my install but I fed the XM module in behind the wire harnes and use velcro to attach it to the underside of the radio. I also wired tied it to the wiring harness for extra security

Good luck.

Sorry, I can't help with you that one, I have a street glide. But somebody here stated there is room right in front of the head light. If it were me though, and I had to choose between listening to the wife babble on the com or listen to good music, the music would win hands down.
