Default Ultra 1995 30th Anniversary

Just picked up a steal on a 1995 Electra 30th model. Detailed Possible engine problems (oil pressure). Drove it home which was 675 miles. It ran great. When I stopped at an exit or whatever, oil pressure at idle dropped to 0 and light comes on. Is it a pump or a rebuild? The bike is immaculate with 46K miles.

could be the oil viscosity was too thin- my '95 used the HD 360 20w50.

and when really hot at idle the pressure would drop on the gauge.

can't tell from here but your bike may be just fine

never did a thing to mine beyond oil, gas, filters & tires

over 82000 when I sold it, the new owner is happy with it

Do an oil and filter change, refill with a conventional oil and see if things change. Post pics when you can!

He's in Ohio- I think riding season ends next week.

20w50 would probably be right for him.

A multigrade is a good choice

I had the same bike, just sold it last year. Those EVO's will drop real low if they are hot. I would change oil and also check/clean the screen near the pushrod tubes. If it continues it may be the pump. My EVO ran significantly cooler when I ran Redline 20-50 synthetic.

Took it to local Harley dealer and as suggested in these posts, had the oil and filter changed. The took it for a run. Running pressure was 23 lbs and hot idle was bit under 5. They stated it's fine. Went out to hop on the bike and gas was dripping from the part the two gas lines go to from the tank (fuel injection). Part has a silver or zinc coated bottom resovoir. Is this the regulator? What part is this and how hard is it to change out.

A few years ago I was on a run with a large group of bikes when an accelerator cable broke on a '98 Ultra (95th) Anniversary bike.
Once at the dealer with the cable fixed the owner had them do an oil change and they put the SYN3 in his motor and the bike would not idle without the oil light blinking.
He told them that he had always used the regular dino (20w-50w) so they drained the SYN3 and re-filled it with the dino oil and ir would then idle with no oil light blinking.

At this point you might want to get a parts and service manual. Fuel leak is from the fitting on then left side? That is the quick disconnect for the fuel tank, regulator is inside the tank by the fuel pump.
I had a 97 Ultra loved it cam bearings went at 70,000 miles. Put in a recon engine rode it for another 60,000 before trading it.

Itraded in my 95 at 168k miles still running like a top and not using oil. In summer i did put in half a quart of Lucas oil treatment. Pressure would stay around 10 psi. Cleaning the little screen by the lifter tubes was something the dealer didnt always do but i did. Thing ran like a top. I still miss it.
