Question What's up with fluid levels.

I just bought a 2012 Ultra Classic 103. I doing my own service at 1000 miles. Have always done my own service on my 1999 Ultra Classic. I have the shop service manual for the 2012. Calls for 38 oz wet and 45 dry in the primary. Dry would be like you had the primary apart. Wet would be if you were changing the oil as I am. I added a quart as was the practice on the old bike. It's right at the bottom of the clutch basket like it suppose to be. I called the service department at the HD dealer and they said that was correct. Bottom of the clutch basket. They said nothing has changed. So where is the service manual coming up with the 38 oz. That would be another 6 oz. Plus it doesn't say anything about the bottom of the clutch basket anymore like it used to. Is there something going on here that the dealer isn't aware of? Anyone had experience with this? Is it still 4 qt engine, 24-28 trans, and 32 primary?

Thanks

The '12 has the longer primary vs the short one your 99 had. So it'll take 6 more oz to get about the same level.

Dump 38 oz, replace with 38 oz from now on.

And don't put 4 qts in the engine. Mine only takes 3 to full.
