stainless bolt for brakes, locite or antiseize?
Ordered some stainless brake caliber mounting bolts, and the two shorter ss bolts for the caliber halves. (bolts are from Alloyboltz) Do I use blue loctite, or anti seize? The more I read under t he search tab the more confused I get. What should i use. Oem stock black caliber on an 08 streetglide.

There are different grades of stainless bolts. I believe AlloyBoltz uses ARP bolts and then polishes them. ARP stainless bolts have a tensile strength of 170,000 where an off the shelf grade 8 is only 150,000. Also, the chromeing process makes the bolt more brittle which reduces the tensile strength!

Any good fastener maker will take precautions to prevent this but it is very real.

fasteners that are plated should undergo a heat treatment after plating read the Counteractions section in the above link.
Also the above link was just one of many google "hydrogen embrittlement fasteners" for more information than you ever wanted.
