Default Retaining clip for pin for clutch lever

Here's an item to check on your next pre-trip inspection. The retaining clip that fits around the bottom of the pin that holds the clutch lever to the bracket on the handlebars was gone on my bike. I stopped for fuel and noticed the pin that holds the clutch lever was sticking up 1/4" above the bracket. Took a look and the retaining clip was gone. I bought a new retaining clip and put it on so all is well. Just wanted to recommend that you give the retaining clips on the underside of your clutch lever pin and brake lever pin a look every now and then.

It's amazing how many things duct tape will fix.

When I took mine off to change my bars other night it was bent like it was not properly put on or just a bent c clip was in the bin and they didn't notice it so I bought a new one when I went and got all my parts was 1 dollar but my peace of mind is worth lots more knowing its a new unbent clip on it

Bought a pack of 100 for $10 from mcmaster a couple of years ago. Put a fresh one on each time. I give them away to anyone that needs one. It'll be a long time before I use them all.

I also bought 100 Viton o-rings for the drain plugs for about $7.50.
