Default From Klock Werks 8.5" to Fast Aire 10" SG windshield questions/reviews

Today I removed the 8.5" tinted Flare Klock Werks windshield from my SG and put the factory windshield back on. I'm 6'3 and I'm thinking about ordering a 10" tinted windshield from Fast Aire. I was just wondering what other people's opinions were of it? I have read plenty of good reviews but none were rider height specific. I guess the Klock Werks is off to the classifieds section or eBay for someone to get a deal. Haha. Thanks for your input.

I do like it. I just want to go with a 10 inch windshield because of my height. The only reason I removed the Klock Werks is so I can sell it before a rock hits it or something scratches it.

Thumbs up A vote for Freedom Shields

After spending a LOT of money chasing windshields for my Road Glide trying to deal w/ the wind buffeting, I finally gave up and sold it. Bought a Street Glide and, of course the stock "wind deflector", while stylish, did nothing about the wind. Someone the same height as me (5' 9", 30" inseam) said a 7" Freedom Shield was the ticket. I bought an 8" and it is absolutely the best thing since sliced bread. It only comes up to right at my upper lip so I see WAY over top of it, but I can put my hand in front of my face and I feel no wind until my hand is at the top of my helmet. I can actually hear and enjoy the radio. They ship them with a plastic coating so you can try it out and return it for another height or refund if you want. The owner actually sent an email the day it arrived asking me if it worked for me and asking for feedback. I can't recommend them enough. Good luck!

Fastaire 8" recurve works for me. Call them up. The owner/designer, I forget his name is super nice he'll explain how the shield works and recommend what he thinks is best based on your riding style.

My windshield sage went as follows:

Stock - buffeting disaster
8.5 Klock Werks - looking through the wind shield distorted my vision, I'm 5'10"
6.5 Klock Werks - eliminated 75% of the buffeting
Now the fastaire - eliminated 90% of the buffeting

If your changing windshields due to buffeting I believe THE HELMET is the major culprit. I've switched helmets after all this and the buffeting is gone. I'm now considering going back to the 6.5 Klock Werks, looks better IMO.

Good Luck

I'm 6'-2" with a 34 inch inseam. I have the 8" shield from FastAire.
I wish that I had gone with the 9 or 10 inch, but the 10" should work fine for you.
Jim is really easy to deal with, and has great customer service.

Nothing at all. I just figure the 10 inch would be better for my height.
