Default The Cat will Soon be Gone!

I just ordered a De-Catted Original Harley Touring Header Pipe from E-Bay for $124.00 shipped to my door! The seller states that he has 35 years welding experience & is perfectly Tig welded after gutting out original cat! Can't wait for it to arrive so I can make the swap! I wanted to keep the original look of my Harley Exhaust & believe that this is the most econimical way of doing so other than cutting it out myself which I did Not want to deal with! For you guys who have already performed this Mod how do you like the results? I think that my Screaming Eagle Slip ons will also sound better with this mod along with reduced heat! Soon no more CAT!.......

Tone is a little deeper and there's less heat but it was not quite the night and day difference some make it out to be.It will make your slip-ons sound better/louder.

sounds like a great deal for those of us who don't weld.

i have the 09 no cat- it is a good exhaust system for a mildly tuned bike.

as for sound, there will be a change- some of the 2010 and up guys are pretty happy reusing the stock mufflers once the cat is gone.

I installed the Fuel Moto 2-1-2 that were ceramic lined. They helped a lot with the heat. Now it is more like an EVO heat wise. I feel the heat radiating off the cylinders. I do not know what difference having them ceramic lined makes, but this combination worked well for me.

Sound did not get louder with stock mufflers, just a little deeper.....then I added jackpots, stage 1 and changed the map. Life has not been the same since.

I recently had my indy install a stock, de-catted header (also from Ebay) when I had my Yaffe apes installed.

I agree with what has been said: deeper, slightly more volume, cooler.

I'm gonna have my local Indy do it. I don't have the time nor the patience this time of year. Now that the bike is put up for the winter & I'm not riding, I tend to bury myself grabbing every overtime shift I can at work!....
