Whoa !!!! That is disgusting ! I'm in Ontario, and my 08 Street Glide is at the dealer for winter storage, I thought about having them throw one in there as she's still on the original battery, never had a problem. At $250 I think I'll pass....

I bought one in the USA at a dealer for $170, saved a few bucks, as I was there anyways. Sick of Canadian rip off dealer prices. I paid $54 for the HD belt tension gauge a few weeks ago. Then they mentioned that there was going to be another price increase soon.Words cant describe..

To all of you folks who installed the ETX30L in there Touring bike, did you start the bike up immediately ? or put it on the tender for awhile ? I just installed the same battery, bought it last night, last one on shelf. After work today, decided to throw it in, put it on the tender and the tender is showing the orange light, as charging. Is there a possibility that the battery was on the shelf in the store for a very long time ? It's been only about 2 hours since I installed the battery. I just don't want to put any strain on the starter or charging system, and it's only about 42 degress outside.
Should I leave it overnight and fire it up after 24 hours on the tender ?

Thanks for the help,

Joe

Most batteries require an initial charge when you buy them. Almost every battery I've ever bought included a recommendation to trickle charge for some number of hours before using.
