Sure you can- when i moved from Canada, DMV required me to road test.
I lived a few blocks from the testing center and would go down there and practice the course in the evenings.
When my appointment finally came up, I near set a record time- on my '53 FL tankshifter.
Skills are good, I practice all the time at the high school parking lot on my various bikes ( still surprised at how quickly the 09 with ABS will stop)
congrats

That is good news. I borrowed a bike for the test here in Ca because I stupidly did not transfer when I moved here from Arizona. I borrowed a bike because my rigid chopper was not done and I was flying to Arizona to rent a bike in a few months. It was easy.
Actually the California skills test is a joke and if you cannot pass it on any bike you should not even be riding. I will take new riders to the DMV on weekends and show them what is involved and we will practice. They usually freak out watching me put the Road King through the paces and it gives them confidence to see the big bike effortlessly maneuvered through it. Not one has failed the riding part after we go practice a bit.
I always thought I could handle bikes well until I saw a Police competition and watched Ride Like a Pro videos !!
Most people never practice anything and get all freaked out over the test.

Exactly-a little practice is it. Go to the DMV on the weekend and run the course a couple times. If you don't know what the course is or how it is applied, go on YouTube and search ca dmv motorcycle skills test. Anyone that has been riding awhile should be able to knock it out, barring some other exceptional circumstance.

So are you saying you have ridden a street bike for 21 years without the motorcycle endorsement ? How were you able to secure bike insurance or was that something you disregarded also ?
