Default Hydraulic Clutch - Can it be adjusted?

Hi all. Newbie to the forums. I'm a female rider having a hard time with the hydraulic clutch on the SGS. It seems so much harder to pull vs the cable clutch on my previous Road King. After 150 miles of riding yesterday, my hand was toast. Is it possible to adjust the clutch somehow so it is easier to pull?

welcome

I think only if you use a softer spring in the clutch ( the clutch mechanism, not the hydraulic unit).

but then you quickly risk slipping clutch under normal operation.

new bike under warranty- ask the Dealer techs to double check that for you...walk into the dealer and squeeze some clutch levers see how they feel

To answer your question ... No.. Hydro clutches are not adjustable. I do agree that you might have a problem if you think your clutch pull is too hard. Take mkguitar's advice and compare it to showroom SGS. Then see if warranty will check it out and repair if necessary.

no, the easy boy hooks onto the end of the cable...

cable

and then uses a longer lever in the trap door for a longer but softer pull at the hand control.

the current HD "EZ Pull" clutch mechanism ( from 2007?) is similar.

for cable...not hydraulic

ok, go to the link...look at the 2nd and 3rd pics, they show how it attaches to the cable.

then we get the info where it fits all kinds of models

then the 1st user question posted: does this fit Hydraulics...

answer is no.

they have inaccurate model fitment info on that page...well it'll fit but you'll need to change over to a cable.

they also says it won't fit an FXR...I got the original White Brothers Easy Boy on my FXR, been on there since 1990.
These were about the best $26 a rider could spend on their bike, but it does really only work with a cable.

the hydraulic is a completely different type of actuator

Seems odd. I find the hydraulic easier to pull than the cable clutch and I have carpel tunnel issues.

Dawniey,

I have no experience with a Hyd clutch, but, just so happens I was in Kenosha about a week ago talking to a guy that had a 2014 Limited with the hyd clutch.

I asked him if I could squeeze the clutch lever just to see the difference in pull force between his hyd clutch, and the standard clutch on my '12 Limited.

I thought the pull on the hyd clutch was harder than my standard clutch. Thing was, the bike had been sitting in a cold garage. He said that once the bike/weather warms up, pull force was a lot easier.

Maybe once the weather warms up a little it might get easier???
