Default Clarification on this tuner

Got a price from the dealer on a full exhaust and air cleaner, Obviously they have to tune the bike too.. The guy also gave me a price on the 32109-08c kit-efi super tuner screamin eagle. From what I understand, This actually stays on the bike at all times correct? Do I have any control over tuning later on if I do something else? It says something about software to be able to do so is the reason Im asking. Also, who has one? and do you like it?

doesn't stay on the bike, it stays with it. marries itself to the ECm, and will only work with that bike. It allows communication with the ecm and allows downloaded info to overwrite the program inside. Whether that is a pre programmed tune, (which it sounds like you will get) to a dyno tuned specific setup, you n eed that interface. the supertuner does other things as well, it allows recording of last thirty minutes of riding to help adjust the specific block of rpm that there may be an issue. as for what you are doing, no you will just ride it and all should be well. You will need that device if you do other changes down the road. and you can make nyour own changes, (using the disc that comes with it) but be very careful, seen lots of messed up bikes due to people trying to tune it themselves. it can be fixed, but usually will wind up on the dyno after that.

Thanks for the info. After doing the exhaust and the air cleaner, There will be no reason for it to be tuned again. And I damn sure wouldnt touch it because I have absolutely no business touching it haha...
