Default 95" Ring Gap Problems

I am having a terrible time with rings.... My jugs measure 3.875"-3.876", I'm using Wiseco 4993PS pistons with 3875VM rings. All told, I have 4 sets of rings here, and everyone of them out of the package gaps at about .022"

The instructions that cam from Wiseco for Harley Twin Cams say top and bottom ring should be gapped at .015"

Am I missing something here???

Help!

Here's the rest of the info...

10.5:1 Wiseco 4993PS Pistons; 2006 heads ported, polished, CR's; SE257 CAM, true duals

2000 RKC

The H-D service manual for ring gap says:
Top Compression Ring .012-.022
2nd Compression Ring .015-.025
Oil Control Ring .010-.050

and make sure the gaps are aligned correctly on the pistons.

Bringing this back from the dead since I'm having the same issue. What did you find out Dicky?

According to previous post, .022" is within Harley's specs for ring end gap, but I would be contacting who sold you the pistons and rings to confirm this.

I've talked to Zippers, who I got the 95" kit from.

I've talked to Wiseco, who the piston and rings were supplied by.

I have the paperwork from the kit.

I've scoured the internet.

I've talked to different engine guys.

All of the information conflicts.

I believe H-D's gap figures are the preferable ones to use. JIMS also uses the same numbers. Assuming all your measurements are correct you're Ok to go.

Well they're all set to 0.015, which looks to be acceptable. We'll see what happens. Thanks for the feedback.

belive ring gap is 5 tho for every inch of bore, so around .20 for both top and middle ring is minimum. rather be to big than to small. to small will bind the rings when they get hot and ruin your top end.
