Default Who rides with their Son (or Kid)...

I took my son out on a ride for the first time last Sunday after checking his skills on Saturday around the block on my EVO (NO WAY he is getting on my StreetGlide). took me a while to get to this point, especially with all those IDIOTS here on the road in Vegas and I fdo NOT want to be the one standing at his grave...

He's got dirt bike experience, so mechanically he is familiar with a bike/clutch/....

I must say, it was a good ride (up to Mountain Springs Saloon - ~100 mls round trip) even though we both are stubborn Dutch a.holes...

him riding with you or riding by himself? my son rides with me all the time. he loves it. hes 11 and keeps reminding me he can ride by himself at 14. im looking forward to when we can ride side by side. he will have to have passed a motorcycle safety course first. i mite make him do it yearly just to remind him how important motorcycle safety is. not that i dont tell him all the time now anyways

Got my attention. I have even raised my passenger floor boards for him.

Been watching for a dirt bike to start breaking him in

MSF course is good for everyone.

I've rode with both of my kids on the back of various bikes of mine. Now that they are teenagers, my oldest one just took his rider safety course and has his permit. Next year my youngest will do the same. They are 15 and 14 and have been on motorcycles since they were 3 and 4. I can't wait to ride with them.........

Started my boys out young with dirt bikes since they were 8. Been riding with them since. First on dirt until they could get license and now on the road. One is more interested than the other. We do a father son every year ( since 16 ). This year will be our 5th ride. We usually go for between 3 and 7 days. I feel privileged he has always wanted to spend this type of free time with his OM. Special bonds are made. We also ride a lot during the year, but these these are just ours.

It's everything you dream it could be. This year we are literally not planning anything. We will leave the driveway a week from Friday and follow where the road takes us for the next 4 days. Can't wait.

Oh, and yes... Rider safety course was prerequisite.

Two of my daughters ride. One has a Iron 883 which she bought new two years ago and the other has my old 83 FXR she has had for 5 years now. Both have taken the MSF and advanced rider courses. Some of my best rides are with them and the wife.
