Default `02 RK Fuel Gauge Accuaracy

The other day the low fuel warning light went on when I started to slow for a light and the engine cut out. Coasted to side of road and it started right up. Gassed up at next station. Took 4.6 gallons on a 5 gallon tank. Took a ride up through Smuggler`s Notch in VT yesterday and gassed up more often than usual. Gauge not as accurate in relation to amount of gas I put in. 12 year old bike. Ran like a raped ape. Guess I should not complain! Any one else with gas gauge inaccuracies?

Yeah, I've just come to accept that the gauge isn't very useful. I just reset my tripometer every time I fill up.

I ran out of gas the day after I bought my bike because the gauge said it was still 1/4 full (didn't get the low fuel light either). I always use the trip meter since then. Plus, I carry one of these now, as well.

+1 on just using trip meter as primary source.

I do the trip meter thing. At 150mi it's time to start looking for a station.
