Default Just Wondering

I have an old 69' XLCH, and am thinking of selling it. I love good handling fast sport bikes and have my eye on a V-Rod. I am just wondering , Are they trouble free? Do they handle well? Any comments appreciated.

V-rod is not a sportbike, and does not handle like one. Engine is pretty much bulletproof. As for Handling the best would be the 180 rear tire vs 240

The VRod that's closest to a sportbike is the mid-control 2006-7 VRSCR Streetrod. I've never ridden one, but I've read really good things about it.

I am looking at 2002 VRSCA V-Rod. immaculate condition, anodized aluminum finish, forward controls, only 14,000 miles. I know when this model first came out, and maybe now, it is looked down upon as a not a real Harley. But watched a video on the development of it, an think it will be a good buy. I love a bike that handles well, and has some power, and it seems to me, it fits the profile. And for the price being offered, (not telling) it seems to be a good buy. Cheaper than a newer Sportster. So, I would like any comments from anyone that owns one.

The first couple of years (02-03) had their problems.
Bad fuel flanges/Gearing/Bad Camshafts/Shifter Forks/Shifter ratchet mechanism/small fuel tank/Triple Tree Stem problems/coolant recovery problems/IAT problems/solid wheel wind wobble/stator and cover leakage (design change in 04)/front motor mount/and more.

All A models have forward controls and most late model V-Rods can be had for less than a newer sportster.
Do your a favor and research the problems a little more beside a video.

So... did you buy it?
My first bike when I was 15 was a 69 900 on a rigid. I loved that bike... I thought it was the fastest thing on the planet. An ol' ironhead and a V-rod are completely different animals. I currently have several bikes and my "dresser" V-rod is currently my top choice for riding (even over my 08 Roadglide or hotrod FXR).

I think that's what he's doing by asking opinions of the forum's members.

How in the world did you get the Road Glide Fairing to mate to the V-Rod? We have a V-Rod we'd love to do that to!

It ain't cheap or easy (I have more in this bike than my actual Roadglide) but it can be done. Yes, Cyclevisions is a good place to start.
