Just wondering what does the word (Dyna) stand for,im sure it must have some kind of meaning in the Harley history.

Was kind of hoping someone would have an answer to this one.

 

When the kids were younger I was "dyna" get a Harley. Now that they are out of college,I got me one!

A "dyne" is a unit of force.

It may me a deravation of that.

Picked this up off of google under an apparently no longer existing website called dynauknco.net:

Lets hope the MOCO had "powerful" in mind and not "female". I don't want another "chick bike" argument.

 

Stands for "dying to", as in I'm Dyna get rid of that metric and git me a hog.

 

It was originally called a Dyna Glide so I would bet it is a combination of sportster and touring in Harley speak.

 

Dyna means its better than anything else Harley builds
