Just wondering what does the word (Dyna) stand for,im sure it must have some kind of meaning in the Harley history.

When the kids were younger I was "dyna" get a Harley. Now that they are out of college,I got me one!

It may me a deravation of that.

Picked this up off of google under an apparently no longer existing website called dynauknco.net:

("dyna" meaning powerful and "ukn" meaning unknown)


And this for the female name 'Dyna':





Dyna Female, Dyna meaning Sister of Roma. Dyna origin Latin

Lets hope the MOCO had "powerful" in mind and not "female". I don't want another "chick bike" argument.

It was originally called a Dyna Glide so I would bet it is a combination of sportster and touring in Harley speak.
