Barnstorm Cycles’ First Harley-Davidson Road Glide Build is One Bad Bagger, Going for Nearly $30,000 Online

Based out of Spencer, Massachusetts, Barnstorm Cycles is known for building awesome bikes. But out of all the bikes they’ve built, they’d never done a Harley-Davidson Road Glide. Barnstorm decided to put an end to that streak. And they did so in a major way with this 2001 FLTR Road Glide. We caught the build on eBay, where it was listed for $29,000 in an auction that ended December 20.

It took six months to transform this FLTR into the masterpiece you see before you. The build started with a bike in pretty rough shape with over 100,000 miles. So with the intention of building a Harley-Davidson Road Glide that paid homage to the FXR, Barnstorm blew the tired old bike apart.

Barnstorm Cycles is known for building bikes that combine form and function. And this Road Glide is no exception. For example, the front wheel is larger than stock but doesn’t interfere with the handling. Ride height is actually higher than stock. And all the components are tucked up inside to allow the bike to lean over all the way on the tires.

The same dual purpose intentions carry over to the powerplant. A 106-inch Twin Cam provides both power and reliability.  You’ll find creature comforts everywhere, with a comfortable ride position. There’s even a pair knee cutouts in the gas tank to allow for extra leg room.

With these modifications, Barnstorm Cycles built a Road Glide that stays true to their mantra. That makes this bike a true dual threat, capable of winning trophies and riding long distances.
