BIKER SCORNED Chopper the Biker Dog Needs Your Help!
Therapy dogs are truly amazing animals. After all, dogs are always looking out for others. They are, after all, called “man’s best friend” for a reason! So when a puppy smiles at you, there really is nothing left to do except scratch them behind the ear and smile right back. That’s why it’s no surprise that when Chopper walks in the room lightens up. Whether he’s at a nursing facility, a law enforcement agency, among veterans, or elsewhere, the happiness never seems to cease.
Though any dog has the ability to make those around them quite content, Chopper is actually quite a special dog. He is Chopper the Biker Dog, and he needs your help
After the recent biker shootout in Waco, Texas, Chopper’s owner, Mark, received a letter from the organization through which him and Chopper did their therapy work through, called Pet Partners. The letter stated that they were being suspended, effective that day. This was primarily due to the clothing that Chopper wears, saying that they were “concerned about the perception” that the team could bring. This, of course, doesn’t really make any sense.
In fact, Mark has been working with Pet Partners for ten years now, and has many examples of email correspondence where Chopper’s costume is acknowledged and even praised. In fact, Chopper isn’t even the first of Mark’s “biker dogs.” He has been working with these canines for therapy purposes for a long while, and despite the setback he doesn’t plan to stop any time soon!
