Bundnerbike’s The Artwork Is a Spectacular Custom Harley Softail
Bundnerbike’s ‘The Artwork’ sports a dark and menacing color scheme; rides on a 330mm- wide rear wheel.
In the past, Switzerland’s custom bike outfit Bündnerbike has been responsible for some of the most exquisite and expensive custom Harleys in the world. In May 2018, we reported on the opulent Bucherer Blue Edition, which cost as much as $1.79 million because of its diamond-encrusted and gold-plated bodywork. More recently, the atelier has been working on more modest creations, including this custom Harley Softail called The Artwork.
The project started life as a Harley-Davidson Softail Slim 114 ABS, which is popular among European custom bike shops. Bündnerbike reproduced the motorcycle and gave it a dark and menacing color scheme.
The motorcycle shop describes the styling of The Artwork as “reduced looks.” The Swiss shop modified the stock Harley-Davidson Softail frame to kick things off. The rear end of the motorcycle was also converted to accommodate the giant 330 mm wheel.
Bündnerbike’s The Artwork rides on an air suspension setup. Furthermore, the custom bike stopping power comes from a Brembo brakes setup. As a result, we find a giant petal disc at the front.
The Brembo badging on the brake calipers is painted bright red, which offers a striking contrast to the bike’s otherwise dark color scheme. The shop built most of the bespoke parts seen on the Bündnerbike The Artwork.
The Artwork gets a custom air filter that features an engraved Bündnerbike logo and badging.
The slew of custom Bündnerbike parts include a custom tan, handlebars, and the oil tank. The handlebars in particular are the pièce de résistance of the ensemble and flaunt a devilish design. The Artwork also sports a custom Bündnerbike license plate holder mounted on the side. So far, Bündnerbike has not revealed any information regarding the performance figures of the powerplant.
Except for the Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde exhaust system, we reckon the motor retains its factory tune. The Switzerland-based outfit has also refrained from disclosing the cost of the Artwork. However, considering the attention to detail throughout the bike, we are sure that The Artwork does not come with a competitive price tag.
