Freaky Styley: Unusual Biker Collector’s Items

HD Antique Sign

We scoured the web to find crazy, sexy, cool stuff that would appeal to diehard Harley-Davidson enthusiasts.

Most of us have some cool Harley-Davidson merchandise: t-shirts to leather jackets; helmets and boots; motorcycle parts and accessories; even H-D shot glasses and home décor. Why? Because we love Harley, and frankly, it’s just cool. Put that powerful logo on an item and it immediately gets a little badass and gains some swagger. However, there are some items that are adorned with the Harley logo that make you go, “Hmmm.” We found a collection of items for sale at Mecum Auctions that go above and beyond a baseball hat, and we thought we’d share these more unusual pieces with you.

Evel Knievel Signed Harley-Davidson Poster

Okay, this is a no-brainer. The famous daredevil and Harley had a long and pivotal relationship. This item is a bonafide collector’s item. This rare poster used time-lapse photography to capture the Harley-riding badass at three points during a jump. It is signed by the one-and-only Evel Knievel with the inscription “Happy Landings.”

Harley-Davidson Antique Safe 18.5x18x28

Do you need an antique safe emblazoned with the Harley-Davidson logo? Probably not. But do you kinda want it? Yes, of course. It’s cool, solid, looks awesome, and frankly that’s enough for us.

Harley-Davidson Factory Neon Sign

This factory neon sign is nice little piece of history to own. This was the actual neon sign that hung over the Harley-Davidson office and visitors entrance at the Milwaukee factory for many years. It’s a little weathered, which gives it something extra and unique. Hope you’ve got a big garage or space for this bad boy.

Harley-Davidson Parts Catalog XR-750 1972, 1975, 1977

A great find for any mechanically inclined enthusiast or someone wanting an affordable little piece of Harley’s past. This catalog has oodles of information, including all the original specs and parts for custom work, restoration, maintenance work, or if you just bone up on your bike’s history. Interesting side note: Has the 70s-era AMF Harley-Davidson logo on the catalog.

Harley-Davidson Parts Catalog XR-750 1972, 1975, 1977 & 1980

Another parts catalog for the racing motorcycle. This edition includes the 1980 model. These catalogs include everything you’d need to modify or restore your XR-750 like Evel Knievel’s bike, or prepare you for the The American Flat Track Series.

1940s Motorcycle Road Sign

Vintage Motorcycle Sign

While this collectors road sign is not not specific to Harley, it is specific to everything they are about: The road. It’s a cool vintage sign from bygone days that can add some real fuel-injected style into your home.

Which of these finds appeal to you?
