Getting Up Close and Personal with the Harley-Davidson Bronx
Our closest look yet at the upcoming Bronx has us even more excited for the new Harley-Davidson streetfighter.
The future looks pretty bright for Harley-Davidson. Within the next few years, they’re launching a lot of exciting new motorcycles. One of our favorites is the Bronx, a new streetfighter motorcycle set to debut some time within the next year or so.
The YouTube channel Motor News had a chance to get up close and personal with the Bronx. Shortly after it was revealed last month at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy, they filmed this video. It goes over the bike in great detail.
Overall, we really like the look of the Bronx. It takes aim at popular naked streetfighter bikes from Europe and Japan, with a sporty, purposeful look. Still, it’s unmistakably Harley, and unapolgetically American.
Thanks to this video, we can now fully appreciate the details. The front fender looks like a sportbike fender that was cut down bobber-style. We also dig the beefy fork brace with exposed hardware, as well as the very minimal headlight fairing. The single gauge sticks up like a lollipop, not unlike most Sportsters.
This video also provides our closest look at the new, water-cooled Revolution Max engine yet. Shared with the upcoming Pan America, the Bronx gets the smaller 975cc version, making an impressive 115 horsepower.
Just a decade or so ago, that was enough horsepower to make the V-Rod a respectable performer. The Bronx will be smaller, lighter, and will likely handle and stop better, too. We can’t wait to swing our leg over one.
The chunky-looking tank has nice ergonomic knee cutouts, and the seat looks pretty standard for a bike of this type. We can’t wait to see what this bike will look like with a fender eliminator installed.
Another feature we like is the blacked-out megaphone-style exhaust. We can’t really say it’s an ’80s retro touch, since exhausts like these have never really gone out of style!
After seeing the Bronx up close, we’re more excited than ever to get a turn behind the handlebars. We should see it in Harley-Davidson showrooms next year. We can’t wait!
