Harley-Davidson CVO Switchblade Is One Rare Factory Custom

Harley-Davidson CVO Switchblade

H-D only built 1,465 of these amazing custom bikes. But we found this 710-mile CVO Switchblade without going too far.

The idea of a factory-built custom Harley-Davidson is obviously nothing new. For those that don’t want to have to finagle with their new bikes yet want something far from stock, these bikes offer a turnkey solution. H-D has been building bikes like this (officially) since 1999, when it launched the Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) lineup. And only two years later, it built one of the coolest factory customs ever conceived – the FXDWG2 CVO Switchblade.

Featuring a Scarlet Red paint scheme with gold flames, the CVO Switchblade looked like something that just rolled out of a custom bike shop in the early 2000s. Based on the Dyna Wide Glide, this special ride also came with a slammed suspension, Twin Cam 88 motor, full-length tank console, Lightning Star wheels, slash-cut exhaust, billet turn signals, and a silver-faced speedometer.

With a powder-coated frame, chin fairing, battery box, and many other components, the CVO Switchblade is a truly dramatic creation. And it’s also quite rare, as H-D built only 1,465 of them. But we did manage to find this gorgeous, 710-mile example in the Harley-Davidson Forums Marketplace, which is quite remarkable.

The seller even has all of the original goodies that came with the bike. Including the “Welcome to the Family” package and cover. It was recently brought up to speed by a local dealer with a fuel system cleanup, new battery, and brake bleed. Amazingly enough, however, this gorgeous CVO Switchblade hasn’t found a new owner yet. Despite a $5k price drop since it was originally listed.

This beauty is just one example of the many cool parts and bikes you can find in the H-D Forums Marketplace. So, if you’re in the market for either, head on over and take a look!
