It’s been a long standing tradition to make epic road trips from wherever you are to the Sturgis Rally. Riders from not only across the continental United States, but also riders from around the world head to Sturgis every year, and each year, rides get longer and even better. This year though marks a particularly special ride that’s set to happen.

On July 27th, a convoy of veterans will make a 1,576 mile trip from Los Angeles to Sturgis to help support the Veterans Charity Ride to Sturgis. The organizers are billing this ride as the “next great tradition” for the iconic motorcycle festival. The trip will take them from L.A., to Vegas, down to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Grand Staircase-Escalante, Capital Reef National Park, The Arches, Moab, Colorado National Monument, Hahn’s Peak, and Medicine Bow National Forest.

More than 600 veterans are set to ride with the help of Indian Motorcycles and will help disabled and wounded veterans coming back from war. The idea began with two Army vets that met last year at Sturgis. According to the ride organizers, “We want to use this ride and campaign as a platform to inform and connect veterans to the resources they need and encourage the general public to support those much-needed resources. Check out the You Can Help section of our website to find assistance or an organization or group to support.”
