Video: How-To Buy a Used Harley with Confidence
Like with cars, people looking to buy a Harley-Davidson often find the used market irresistible. That being said, it’s extremely important to know what you’re buying, and in what condition it’s in.
Depreciation doesn’t exactly play favorites, it hits two-wheels just the same as it does four, which makes a lot of used bikes more affordable. For many rookie-riders who want to maximize the amount of bike they can get for their money, buying a used Harley is often times the best route to take. If you make the right purchase, that is.
This video brought to us by, Alex Lopez, shows us the primary points to consider, such as mileage, condition, tires, lights and price. They suggest bringing your handy-dandy flashlight to check for leaks in the base gasket, check the shift-shaft, and don’t forget to put your hand behind the primary to check for leaks.
As with any used vehicle purchase, if in doubt, ask the owner if they’re willing to let an independent mechanic inspect the bike. It could save you thousands, and maybe even your life.
Have you ever purchased a used Harley-Davidson?
