Well-Spoken: Check Out these Cool Spokes from Autorama!
World of Wheels Chicago showcased some pretty amazing custom bikes, all rolling on equally amazing custom wheels.
There are many, many shows and events that we two-wheeled fans have to look forward to each calendar year. But if you’re into high-dollar custom bikes, you won’t find many better than those at Autorama’s World of Wheels Chicago. The 58th annual installment of this long-running event recently wowed the Windy City, and H-D Forums was on site to capture all the magic for you on film. Or, uh, digitally.
Overall, we were amazed, as always, by the degree of builds we came across at this year’ World of Wheels. The event is commonly known among the automotive set as one of the greatest hot rod shows around, of course. And we couldn’t help but find ourselves mesmerized with the incredible array of custom motorcycle wheels we came across this year.
The big wheel trend has admittedly split the Harley community in half in recent years. But slapping a massive front on these bikes also means that they play a more central role in custom bike design. And by the looks of the bikes on display at World of Wheels, builders are quite aware of this.
That means plenty of slammed, big-wheeled baggers, of course. But we also spotted a slew of choppers, bobbers, and the like. It was a pretty nice mix of old and new as well, giving fans a little taste of the entire spectrum of custom bikes.
Of course, modern-day Harleys are the most popular canvases for big-wheeled bagger builds. And there were plenty of those to feast your eyes on. And even if they aren’t your thing, you can’t help but be impressed by the build quality here.
But even if you can’t stomach any more big wheelers, how about this incredibly naked build? Sporting a frame, suspension, engine, and little else, this easily fits our definition of badass.
And then there were two-wheelers chock-full of bodywork, which provides a giant canvas on which to lay some gorgeous custom paint. This bagger’s brown hue was as deep as the ocean. And the gold leaf with matching gold wheels provides some stunning contrast.
If you didn’t get a chance to make any World of Wheels stops yet, fear not. There are still a handful of cities left on the calendar for 2020. You can head over here to check them all out. And trust us, you’ll be glad you did!
