If a typical Harley build just isn’t unique enough for you, let us introduce you to this crazy custom FXDB.

For most folks, the act of owning a Harley-Davidson is enough to satisfy their desire to stand out from the crowd. After all, motorcycle riders represent a numerical minority in today’s population. Most still see bikers as “outsiders,” people with a rebellious nature and a need to different. But the truth is, we’re still part of a large group of like-minded individuals.

Part of the appeal of owning a Harley is being able to customize it to suit your personal taste. Some simply choose to keep it simple and eschew wild and crazy mods. But for others, having a bike that looks like everything else on the road is not an option. They’re just not satisfied with owning another cookie cutter custom. But for that crowd, it’s getting harder and harder to build a bike that’s truly unique.

A bike like the one you see before you. This wild, custom 2011 FXDB. We spotted the fat-tired cruiser over in the Hemmings Classifeds, where it was recently up for sale. And it’s a safe bet that you won’t pass another one like it on the road, because only five exist. The first thing you’ll probably notice are those classic American Racing Torque-Thrust wheels that have been modified to work on the bike. But if you can get past the rolling stock, there’s a whole lot more going on here.

A custom one-sided swing arm/coil-over setup holds the fat rear wheel and tire in place. Wilwood disc brakes with 4-piston calipers bring it all to an abrupt stop, despite the added heft. A custom springer front end likewise received mods to accommodate the big front wheel. And everywhere else, you’ll find an abundance of interesting eye candy like the jockey-style Hurst shifter and one-of-a-kind headlight.

The use of car-like rolling stock on Harleys is a bit of a controversial subject. After all, we have an entire sub-forum dedicated to them here at HD Forums. But that’s part of what makes this FXDB so unique. And we have to admit, we’re digging the look. But then again, we’re suckers for any bike that dares to break the mold in a world where most folks just try to fit in with the crowd.
