Default Barnett extra clutch plate and finding neutral

I installed a Barnett extra plate clutch pack along with recommended heavy duty diaphragm spring last November (only a couple thousand miles). I have adjusted my clutch probably 30 times since and I still have an incredibly hard time finding neutral. About the only way I get it into neutral while the bike is running is shifting down from second gear, and it's not everytime. Shifting up from 1st is almost impossible to find neutral.

With the heavy duty spring, it can be a bear in heavy traffic, so putting it into neutral would be nice.

I'm running Bel-Ray V-Twin in the primary. This is my first time using it as I ran HD synthetic before.

I upgraded the clutch as I plan on a big bore kit, cams, and possibly head work. Figured I would upgrade the clutch first.

Anyone have any suggestions?

An extra plate kit, because it looses the inner judder spring in clutch pack can sometimes be a little harder to find neutral. I recently adjusted exact same clutch setup on a friend's 124. Even down to the bel-ray. No problem finding neutral.
You don't need that heavy duty spring unless you are planning on serious hp. Try an 03 or earlier stock touring spring. It will hold your big bore kit just fine. When adjusting clutch pack, with clutch cable slack, adjust per FSM except only back off adjusting rod only 1/4 turn, then lock down. Now adjust clutch cable per FSM.

Thanks for the response. I'll try your suggestions.

Also, don't over fill primary. You only need about 28oz in an 05 RK primary

If you find something that works let us know. I've had the same issue since doing those upgrades. I will say I did intake, exhaust, cams, and big bore and had issues with a slipping clutch and that's why I did the clutch plates and HD spring as well as the AIM clutch plate.

as mentioned adjust the clutch pushrod, I like to adjust the cable with a little less free play as well and it seems to help, but make sure that you do actually have SOME free play. the other thing that helps is blipping the throttle and shfting at the same time,,,,seems like the pack loosens up some and can find N easier. this stuff works for me as I ran the xtra plate kits for a long time, before i started getting biggger badder clutch assemblies.

Easy solution. GET RID OF HEAVY DUTY DIAPHRAGM SPRING! Think of the clutch basket adjustment as a suggestion. A little looser or tighter, don't be afraid to experiment. Worked on my 07 years ago.

If you kept the judder spring parts and the narrow plate they MIGHT do the trick with the Barnett stuff. FWIW years ago Barnett supplied a judder spring with some clutch kits.

This, no reason for it outside hipo street racer setup.
