YouTuber ‘Shadetree Surgeon’ Captures Intense Close Call on Video!

A terrifying car accident straight out of an action movie nearly takes out two of our favorite YouTubers.

We’re big fans of Shadetree Surgeon here on H-D Forums. Simply put, the video channel’s host, “Shadetree Surgeon,” is one of the best Harley-centric YouTubers out there right now. He’s funny, entertaining, and informative. We’ve covered his videos a few times here.

We’d like to cover the videos more often, but he’s known to occasionally use some coarse language in his clips. In this case, though, we think we can all agree that a few well-placed expletives are more than justified.

The important footage in this video was filmed by Flip Na, Shadetree Surgeon’s best friend and riding partner. We’ve covered his videos as well. In fact, it wasn’t that long ago that Flip Na was recovering from a motorcycle accident.

Stopped at a stoplight, Flip Na watched helplessly in his rearview mirror as a silver Kia barrel-rolled towards him and his best friend. Shadetree Surgeon nearly drops his bike in a helpless attempt to avoid the car as it hurtled towards them. It looked like something out of an action movie.

Every Biker’s Worst Nightmare

Thankfully, the car stops just a few feet away from Shadetree Surgeon and Flip Na. However, it’s a sobering reminder that you’re never completely safe on a motorcycle — even when you’re stopped in traffic. Always remain vigilant.

Despite just seeing his life flash before his eyes, Shadetree Surgeon rushes into action to help free the motorist from his car. “I’m just making sure you don’t cut yourself on that glass, dude!”

Walking back over to Flip Na, he laughs. “Well, that was unexpected! I’m sure it was even more unexpected for him.” Despite the situation, Shadetree Surgeon still has his trademark sense of humor.

In the video, you can see Shadetree Surgeon nearly ditch his beautiful red Harley Road King — borrowed from a local dealership — as the car tumbles. As he explains, “I was getting ready to jump off the bike and run away!” He jokingly apologizes for not saving the bike. We would have done the same thing in this situation!

Thankfully, everyone is safe and sound. The rest of the video is spent with Shadetree Surgeon and Flip Na riding around, high on adrenaline and with a newfound appreciation for life.
