ease? I don't think it will be hard at all. More fun than difficult. I've gone into my dyna primary already and made it out alive.

I actually cant wait to begin the job of changing the clutch. I want to take inventory of the various parts and how they work. (Sorry for the over written sentences, had to phrase it so it did sound/read the wrong way)

waiting on assembly lube(cam) and dino gear oil as T pointed out earlier.

i think the dark custom era is over to so i need to find a new derby in gloss black. Air cleaner trim too

IMHO, the clutch is fairly easy. Just be sure to have all your parts ready
(gaskets/clutch/tools/fluid)

On the cam, I assume by '585' you mean the Screamin' Eagle 585.
Here's what's on the HD website:
Requires installation of Performance Cylinder Heads P/N 16500074 or 16500347, or upgrade of Original Equipment heads with Performance Valve Spring Kit P/N 18013-03A

I know you said you didn't want to have to change springs, but it sounds
like the 585 cam requires it.

hth,

T.

hth,

yeah, i've aready started to factor them in since i'll be pulling the rocker boxes. Might be worth going with the ported heads. But, 700 for the heads, 300 for cams, ~50 for gaskets... might just need to look at the 07-13 stage IV - p/n: 92500029. I think the 585s / evil pro are in there.

At this rate, i'll have scope crept out to huge pile of parts in a few weeks. I mentioned the springs up above with the chrome rocker boxes, and rear sets.

Just an opinion: Wow, just looked up that p/n at NewCastleHD.
For $2,083.56 I think you can do better with Hammer Perf. parts
(ported heads, 30deg 1250 pistons, new jugs, cam etc) I dont think
you need the 'tuner' in the kit above nor the 58mm throttle body/manifold.
But to each his/her own...

good luck,

T.

yeah, that is a rediculous price. I'm not a hp/tq nut. Im only considering cams because i'm pulling off the chest/cover. The 585 seems to be the best bet. The total cost is about 700 before labor on springs if at all. I expect that labor to be minimal if i walk in somewhere with the heads... At that point it's not a far walk to a stage IV. Decisions.

I really like how it turned out. Nicely done, I'm sure it was tedious work. Looks great and functions, plus!

IMHO, it'd be nice if those front reflectors 'worked'. Balance the front
with rear...

Rim tape looks good though.

i 100% agree with you on the reflectors. I'll see if i can find better ones. I got some sport bike reflectors but, i just couldn't do it once i had them in hand.
